Safety Deposit Box Procedure

Safety deposit boxes are available at Reception, free of charge, for the safekeeping of guests' personal belongings.

Procedure
  1. When a guest requests a safety deposit box, provide them with the safety deposit box form located in the leftmost pigeonhole at the reception desk.
  2. Ensure the guest completes the form with the following information:
    • Their name
    • Room number
    • Residential address
    • Signatures of each person authorised to access the box
  3. File the completed form with the guest's Registration Card in the file box.
Distributing a Safety Deposit Box
  1. Select an available box (with a key in the lock).
  2. Remove the box and hand it to the guest to place their items inside. Avoid handling the guest's belongings if possible.
  3. Once the guest is finished, return the box to the safety deposit vault.
  4. Give the guest the Safety Deposit Box key, emphasizing their responsibility for it and that it's the only key available.
    • Inform the guest that they will be charged for any locksmith fees if the key is lost.
Alternative Storage

As an alternative, the hotel can store items in the Front Office safe. In this case, the Duty Manager must record this in the Duty log and add a note to the guest's booking.

Accessing the Safety Deposit Box
  1. Ask the guest to confirm their name and room number.
  2. Retrieve the registration card and verify the name and room number.
  3. The guest must present their key to access the vault.
  4. The Safety Deposit Box form must be signed each time the guest accesses the box. Ensure signatures match.
